A highly versatile, fully adjustable four-season pole built with premium materials, the Black Diamond Alpine Carbon Trekking Pole handles alpine backpacking routes, mid-winter expeditions and far-flung treks with ease. Three 100% carbon fiber shafts offer quick and secure length changes thanks to redesigned FlickLock Pro adjustability—which now features a more streamlined, aluminum design that’s lighter and easier to use. The comfortable wicking cork grip has now been updated with a softer, more ergonomic foam grip extension for better comfort, while the new solution strap draws inspiration from our harness technology and includes more surface area for better security around the wrist when tackling steep terrain. A 38mm basket and interchangeable Tech Tips allow you to switch between carbide and rubber tips to account for changing trail surfaces.

Great Poles

I got the poles for Oxfam Sydney 100kms, and they were certainly the best purchase for the event. I twisted my ankle pretty badly coming down one of the stairs during the first sections of the trail and the poles helped to stabilised me while I was walking the rest of the trail, without them I would not have finished. They are light weight, easy to adjust and has a comfortable grip, it was the first time using the too, so I did not need to break them in. The only suggestion would be to have the L and R more clearly visible on the top of the pole or even colour code the L and R strap or have the L and R on both side of the strap, as I was constantly checking if I had the poles in the correct hand.

My only issue is that they tend to slip when you are hiking and have to put pressure onto them. The cam locks adjust with a small Allen wrench. It has taken several hikes to get the tension right, and then they'll start slipping again.

Strong, light, durable.

Training for the Pacific Crest Trail. I’m in the process of getting back in shape and even now, these poles don’t get heavy after 15 miles.

Everything I need

These poles are everything they're advertised as. I've used them for hunting, hiking, and tail running. Maybe a little bulky for distance trail running, but they are very sturdy and have served me well over the past 5 months.
