Please bring back the old screws
I want to preface my review by stating that I am a former ski tech who has trimmed hundreds of sets of BD skins. The new hex-key screws are terrible. They make it SO much harder to install the tip loops than before. Very few people have a torx or hex but small enough to use a drill with these, which is critical for shop techs trimming lots of skins in a day. Even just doing one pair of these is a significant time waste with the new screws.
These tips are awful
These skin tips broke on the 3rd trip out. Ski kept catching and tripping on the skin attachment while skinning and then the tip attachment eventually broke. The old design was much more streamlined and did not catch. Why the change?
Difficult to install, does not last
These tips are awful. Ripped out the original tips on my third time out this year. Purchased this repair kit and followed the directions, again ripped out immediately on my next trip. Terrible design
Bring back the old designs
I'm with the rest of the crowd on this one - these tips are inferior. I'm wondering if it's just supply chain issues. In the install diagrams, these types of tips are shown as meant for split boards - I'm wondering why they've phased out their other lines for conventional skis? Anyway, we need the old adjustable wire tip loops back. Those were bomber.
